Irish Stakes – $100.000
SA – 6 ½ Furlongs – Turf
For Fillies And Mares Four Years Old And Upward Foaled in CA

Most of these ladies have been around the block a few times and they still have plenty of run left. You could make a case for at least half of them. It’s going to be a good one.
Here’s the field:
1 Midnight Liquor (Winning Link Stables)
Second by a head in the SSM S/M Turf Sprint last out. Won the De La Rose at a mile on turf in August. Good, solid contender. Could get piece of the purse, and a win wouldn’t be a surprise.
2 Decimint (T Boy Racing)
Second in the Spring Fever Stakes last out after putting together a two-race win streak that included the Bear Fab at GG. Times aren’t as fast as some others, but he always puts in a big effort.
3 Fioraia Ruler (Avenue Z)
Second in the Las Cienegas Stakes (Grade 3) two starts back. Another one with a chance at money. Look for her on or near the lead. That’s where she does her best running.
4 Catawba (Sccj Stables)
Close in graded company with a second and a third at that level. The step down in class could help her get back to the winner’s circle.
5 Gaelic Moon (Angelos Stable)
Stakes winner in state-bred company. Won a high-level allowance last start. Quick turnaround for this mare, but not so quick that it should impact her performance. Wins when she’s close early, so may contest the early pace and could be there at the wire.
6 Shesa Busybody (Luz International) Very strong allowance winner. Would get more attention if it weren’t for the caliber of this field. Still, to overlook her would be a mistake. With a top performance, she can have a say in the outcome.
7 Social Storm (Asgar)
Won in allowance company last start. Very close to winning several times lately, but just doesn’t seem to be able to close the deal. Will need to bring her A game against these.
8 Sweetness (High Voltage)
Last win came in graded company last April. Lightly raced since then. In fact, she makes her 2023 debut here. Last start was in October. May need this one to get back to top form.
9 Return To Sender (Maxmillion Farm)
Another one making her 2023 debut. No wins beyond allowance level, but she finished second by a neck in the state-bred Fleet Treat in July. Another one that may be close to the lead in the early going. Remains to be seen if she can stay there.
10 Beautiful (Ace Racing Stable)
Has been knocking around in claimers lately. This one came up tough for a filly trying to win her first stakes.
11 Nuka (Angelos Stable)
Won the $100.000 Zareta in December. Dropped back down to optional claiming company last out which resulted in a win at SA. Don’t count her out. She’s the real deal.
12 Commanding Jane (Night Rider Stables)
Graded stakes winner of the Las Flores Stakes two starts back. Didn’t fare so well in her last start in the Inside Information where she finished 7th on dirt. Moves back to turf and should benefit from the shorter distance and drop in class. Another one with a real chance.
