Bowling Green – Grade II (P2)
1 3/8 Mile Inner Turf Stake Purse $250.00 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st Master Of Disguise Mb Stables Velazquez J R
The last time this horse ran this trip it was in the Man O War and an almost identical run today in very similar splits saw the horse once again come out on top. This five-year-old is developing into a really consistent horse over these longer trips and whilst the grade one win has so far alluded him it won’t be long before he gets there. Maybe the BC Turf could be on the radar and if he continues in this sort of form, he would be a live chance.
2nd Martinez Royalty Stables Lopez P
Going back from the wide gate, option B at HRP, he was a fair way back in tenth but didn’t lose touch with the pack which was important later on. When asked to go for it he quickened willingly and beat all but one down the stretch in a really brave effort. This is a four-year-old, which has built nicely into this season, as we know horses of this age can hit a flat patch as they turn four, but he seems to have come through his and is back on the improve. This was a great effort, all things considered, and there will be another big win for him before the season ends.
3rd Flaming Hot Mb Stables Lezcano J
Stalked the leaders and kept on well for third beaten under a length. From the stalk they just don’t quicken like the ones coming from further back and he never established a winning lead and paid the price. Considering this one was claimed for just $25.000 he ran a cracker and is clearly a much better horse than a claimer, and I would expect more success in his future, certainly at this level.
4th Cazadero Mojica Racing Prat F
The six-year-old put in a brave effort from a tough gate running on well into fourth. He hasn’t got the form on the board that most of these had but his consistency and gameness certainly paid off for the last paying place. Two good efforts at this level this season certainly put him on the cusp of a graded win down the line.
