No Ones Comparing a Grade One Winner

Cotillion Stakes – Grade I
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $1,000.000 Filly 3 Year Olds.

1st No Ones Comparing Mb Stables Lopez P

Well, the stable may have been a bit disappointed with some of their other runners so far but come the $1,000.000 race come the Man. Well, I said this one had been admirably consistent, so she thoroughly deserved this gutsy win after placing so many times at lower level. It just goes to show that there isn’t much between an ungraded stake and a grade one these days as she had placed in her last 5 starts at grade two and three but came out on top in this grade one. Bred by the champion owner she will head to the BC and if she gets a run she will put in another honest effort.

2nd Heart Of Joy Royalty Stables Gaffalione T

Stalking the lead, I thought this grade one winner would push through for the win but was always vulnerable to a late finish and it was that that beat her in the end. Like the winner, this one is as consistent as they come, and she will be a force whichever way she chooses to go in the BC.

3rd El Grande Latte Black N Gold Stable Smith M E

I was worried about her late closing style in a big field and sure enough the AI never put her close enough to have a winning chance. Way out the back she ran past them all but the top two and whilst the trainer may be cursing the race engine this was the real black booker in the race, and I think she has a very bright future.

4th Soliloquy Sunset Nakamura Stables Bejarano R

They went a bit quick for her early, so her pace coding never saw her get to the front and whilst she kept on really well, she didn’t have the turn of foot to put them away. She will meet a few of these again in the BC and it will be a whole different result so maybe she can come out on top in the big one.
