Winning just seems to be a natural for this two year old son of Notorious One, no matter what the distance, surface or the level of competition, Night Rider Stables is definitely reaping the benefits of this one, and we all may very well be surprised where he fairs later this season.
- The FL Sire Stakes- In Reality Purse $400.000
- Gulf Stream Park – For Two year old’s Foaled in Florida
- One Mile and a Sixteenth- Main Track
While many may say that he hasn’t ventured outside the state of Florida, Notorious Temper is one in my opinion, we should be taking a closer look at in the future. For those interested in his sire, only a couple of days left to get him at the fiver price, next quarter he jumps to a sawbuck!
Notorious Temper seems to have just the right running style to compete at the higher levels and bigger purse values. His victory here placing ahead of all three of Mb Stables entries at the wire is testament to his ability to be an accomplished runner. While he has NO Juvenile Breeder points to his credit, I think he would have been a nice addition to that event if he hadn’t got a late start on this years campaign. Trust me, next year I think his name will be on everyone’s lips. Whatever your doing Raj, keep up the stellar work. His total earnings now sit at $313.500 and his final time of 1:42.18 is the second fastest for this event.
Walking away with the place, show and minor share amounts would be Mb Stables and his entries of Starship Leader ( 4.90 ), Socrates ( *4.10) and Operation Farley ( 7.95 ). While Socrates was the earlier Affirmed winner, Starship Leader probably went to school that day leading at one point, and put that education to work here, giving him the slight advantage today. Operation Farley earned an education at this race, and while he is still in search of a maiden victory, it shouldn’t be far along now.
Fifth would be the winning trainer’s other entry of Mystico ( 94.05) who was starting in only his second career start and first for this trainer, and just his first attempt with Lasix. Proved to give him some pick me up going out strong, then only fading to miss by a length. Second time Lasix will be the key.
Estero Farm’s Komet ( 5.45 )would place sixth at the wire. As mentioned in the preview for this race, not really sure if it was too soon after the geld to be racing? But knowing his trainer he will back up early in the morning with works to have him ready once again.
South Beach Racing’s Cheap Charlie ( 5.05) would narrowly finish in seventh ahead of D J C Racing Stables Mortar ( 9.90 ), both some three lengths off the winner. The final competitor in this affair would be Arindel’s General Obvious ( 5.00 ) just five shy, but remained last throughout.
