AQU 2    NY Stallion Series – Fifth Avenue

It pays to breed in NY, that’s for sure.  A nice $500.000 purse is on the line for the female youngsters and we look at the field for the 2019 NY Stallion Series – Fifth Avenue to be run at seven panels on the AQU main track.  I’m looking at the classy Never Forgotten as
my top pick today.  She has a pair of graded wins and a solid performance in the BC Juv Fillies (GI) and I think it all adds up to a victory for her.  I’ll take Ms Pea as my second pick as this filly seems to be the real deal winning her two starts after the initial “break-in” race.  She seems to have a nose for the wire and you just can’t ignore that.  I’ll put Bite The Bullet on the bottom of my tri tickets as you just can’t ignore the Big Barn nor that win against graded horses in her last out race.  It looks like a good one so grab a cold one and let’s meet down by the rail.

Broke maiden at PEN in her debut and it’s been an up-hill battle since.  A couple of on-the-board efforts but she hasn’t had his picture taken since.  Was fourth in her most recent while facing NY-bred Alw horses, and it won’t be any easier here.

Sold prior to that tenth place finish on BC Day, but still nothing to be ashamed of there.  Won a couple of graded starts in the Alcibiades (GI) and Adirondack (GII) so there is no doubt that she has a ton of talent and should flex her muscles today.

Solid efforts while facing NY-bred stakes horses included a narrow miss while second in the Key Cents over this track in her most recent try.  She’s usually around when they hand out checks and she should be a factor in this one as well.

Nice when over this track to get a graded score as she won the Tempted (GIII) by two lengths.  Has a NY-bred stakes under her belt as well and seems the type that is getting better with each start.  This barn is always a factor and they come with a horse that seems ready to break
out.

Broke maiden at the Spa back in the summer and has two less than thrilling starts since that win.  Has stopped in both of her subsequent starts and they switch from the lawn to the main track in an effort to wake her up.

Just missed last out in a NY-bred stakes when second in the Maid of the Mist over this track.  She closed a late gap in that one, which is certainly her style.  Let’s hope she stays a bit closer to the pace, gets a clear run and makes another serious run at them.

Lightly raced but seems to have a ton of talent.  Broke maiden and then came right back to top NY-bred stakes horses in the Key Cents to make it back-to-back wins.  She certainly could be any type and must be looked at with the contenders in this one.

Broke maiden at the Spa back in July and has been close in a trio of starts including the Glorious Song north of the border in her most recent.  Showed a late foot in that one, which is her way of doing things, and she could be a late factor in this one as well.

She seems to have figured this race horse stuff out…  a trio of wins including a wire-to-wire win at DMR taking the Arnaz Stakes last out.  She has won by closing, stalking and leading so style isn’t an issue, and neither is winning.  She’s a contender.

Only a maiden win from this one but she has faced some tough company getting to where she is today.  Closed a late gap on BC Day to be sixth beaten three lengths, which is nothing to sneeze at.  She needs to show more but seems to be a horse sitting on a big effort.

Broke maiden over this track last out and they go big game hunting right away.  She has flashed speed in all of her starts but will need to bring her best game today.  The post does her no favors other than it may help with her speedy ways.
