Gotham bred gals will try to pocket some nice cash on Sunday as we look at the field for the NY Stallion Series – Park Avenue, a six-and-a-half-furlong dash that really is about as wide open as a race can be.  A pair of these picks up the 2-pounds stakes win impost, so keep that in mind if weight is in your handicapping spectrum…

I’m going to take a flyer on a barn that is looking for their first stakes win and will put Atomic Fury on top of my tickets.  Xcel Racing makes the private purchase on a filly that is well represented with a 2-2-1 record from her seven lifetime starts, but her two off the board finishes did come this year… but note that both were vs. tough fields in graded races, so this should be a bit more to her liking. 

I’ll go right next door and put Gigafemme in the second spot, so obviously, the weight isn’t bothering me.  She won the NYSS – Fifth Ave as a 2yo and was close in a pair of other NY bred stakes, so this fits her well.  She is another that found open/graded stakes to be a bit saltier than she wants (at least, at this time) so coming back to state-bred types should make her a hand-full. 

Again, this looks to be anyone’s race…
