Three Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

Only a field of five here for this years running of the Via Borghese and it is a rather long race. Ones with a lot of stamina will do good in this race so let’s take a look at the field.

1. Anna D (9-3-4-0 $316.400), trained by Smokey Stover

First up in the field here is the likely favorite as she is coming off of two seconds in a row in graded stakes company. She runs the second she did in a grade one two races ago she should be the winner in this field.

2. Amaris (15-5-5-2 $231.040), trained by First Street Stables

Next up is another who should have a pretty good chance in here and she has been running pretty well. Second in a graded stakes two races back and an effort like that should be her right there.

3. Mangled Priest (13-7-1-3 $31.410), trained by Bomberracing

Up to this filly now and she is coming into this race off of a couple decent efforts. She won a lot of races on the free track but hasn’t won since changing barns. She likes to come from way back and in this field I don’t think she will get enough pace.

4. Shake The Stick (13-4-3-1 $93.540), trained by Nakamura Stables

This filly here is going to be returning to the grass after a few starts on the dirt. She is a nice filly and has been running well but I think that she is a little outmatched with this group.

5. Sancerre (8-3-3-0 $37.640), trained by Mo Mentum Farm

Last up in the field here and she is coming into this race off of a good second in a wide open allowance race. Could have a shot here is she improves and gets a good trip from this outside post.

Summary

Well a small but pretty decent field has been entered up here for this race. The inside two runners look the best and I am going to go with the inside runner to win this spot. Good luck to all in the field.
