An eleven horse race and first to worst was only five lengths… yeah, it was a close one.  Open And Shut Case, sent off at nearly 10/1 odds in the CC Iron Horse, got home by a half length, giving Asgar the opening win on CC Day, here in Louisville.  The 5yo gelding covered the mile and a sixteenth in 1:41³ over the Fast CD oval.  R Lopez stalked the pace the entire way and ended up second, with 50/1 longshot (and my choice) Black Plague third.  Asgar also grabbed the minor money with Retromania. 

Open And Shut Case is a 5yo bay gelding by Condotteri – Opening Premier, by Premier, and he was bred by Hawthorneshorsefarm in LA.  Acquired by his current owner, Asgar, purchased from the Sept ’19 Auction for $11.330, this was his second win from eighteen starts, and he now has earnings of $89.500.  Congrats to the Connections!
