On one of the bigger race days of the year here at Belmont Park the weather was not cooperating with the wishes of the owners and the track came back sloppy. In this race it caused there to be one scratch in Master Piece Five so that left 7 runners in the field. The betting public got behind the 2 inside horses in Gsin and Foresight. As the gates opened all the horses appeared to get out well, and after the first ¼ of a mile You Big Freak had scampered out to a lead. He was followed on the outside by Mars and then there was a break to Gsin who was sitting on the rail in 3rd. A half mile into the race there was no change in the running order for the top 3 horses, however Orange Skeleton had pulled within ¼ a length of Gsin for 3rd. At the 6 furlong mark the picture started to change, as You Big Freak was still in first but his lead was getting smaller. Orange Skeleton had moved out wide and was making a clear run and looked to have the best shot to win at this point. Mars and Gsin were in a dead heat for 3rd but Gsin looked like he was full of run but needed to find a hole. Foresight had also hit his best stride and he was just sitting back in 5th and looked like a danger horse. In the dash to the line Orange Skeleton proved to be to much and held on to win the race. Foresight made a nice run but came up just short as he finished 2nd. The hole did open up inside for Gsin and he flattened out and ended up in a dead heat for 3rd with You Big Freak.
