The fast and furious weekend continued at DEL as Shining At Knight bested this talented field by a length, stopping the timer at 1:54.29… equaling the track record for the mile and three-sixteenths distance of the DEL Hcp (GII), and the bay filly handed Our Athletes the lion’s share of the $500.000 purse, in the process.  A speed duel materialized and as that fell apart, she was ready to motor right on past, going under the wire in front by a length as the 1.75/1 favorite.  Wood Duck Stables’ Starving Artist was right in the thick of things throughout, but could not reel in the eventual winner, taking the second spot by a length over Fractious’ Twilight Time, that one nosing out Mb Stables Siouxbiscuit, the later taking the minor share of this major race.  Only five lengths covered the field of eight.
