  This year’s Shoemaker Mile would see a head to head battle between the last two winners of race as Jakarta (2023) and Electric Blue (2024) looked to win it again while taking on four others. After running a mile on the turf, it would be Jakarta going wire to wire, just like he did two years ago.

Six months ago, Spankersville got the better of Wahpekute Sioux, and so far in 2025, we have not seen Wahpekute Sioux at the stake level.
