You remember the battles… Ali/Frazier, Hagler/Hearns, Sugar Ray/Duran… well we had another one in Saturday’s The Dogwood (GIII) as Mb Stable’s Altered State and Fractious’ Dream Chaser put on a show.  That duo battled all the way around the fame oval at CD… well, at least from the seven-furlong chute to the wire, and it took a photo to settle this one with Altered State taking the win by the narrowest of margins.  Just as our handicapping pointed out, if she was right, she’s a handful… and she stopped the clock at 1:21.98 as the big barn takes this race for the third time in the past four years.  Dream Chase had absolutely nothing to be ashamed of battling back after giving up the lead into the lane, and almost pulling the come-back win.  It was a length to Madam Dime in third, then a head to Statuette in fourth, with only three lengths covering the field of six.
