Quiver Pond Goes for Another Grade One

                             The BEL Oaks – GI
                     BEL Race 4 1 1/4M – InTurf
                              Purse $1,000.000
                           Three Year Old Fillies

A group of fourteen fillies will line up and try to take down the BEL Oaks. There is some very good follies that are going to try and take down this big old purse and try to either win another or become a grade one winner. Let us take a look at the big field of fourteen fillies and pick out a winner.

1. Splash Down (7-2-2-1 $104.300), trained by Jkk Racing Stables

The New York bred filly by Captain Hotdog is coming off of what is probably her best race in her career so far. She barely got edged out in her last start here at BEL in a New York bred stakes race. Now she will have to run the race her life to do it though and I’m not sure her best will be good enough.

2. Alligator (11-4-1-1 $301.800), trained by Maxmillion Farm

This filly has really gotten good late as she has now won two graded stakes in a row. She also has arguably the best turf trainer in the game in her corner so that obviously helps her chances out quite a bit. She is on the improve and has won two grades stakes in a row so I definitely think she has a chance.

3. Noble Moment (8-2-1-0 $140.700), trained by Mb Stables

It looks like this filly finally put it all together last out when she ran for the first time ever on the turf. She won the Nassau at WO last out in her first turf start and won very impressively that day. But she has also never been tested like this on the turf so who knows how she will handle it.

4. Snakie Groupie (7-3-2-1 $320.400), trained by Maxmillion Farm

Here is another filly who is doing pretty good at the moment as she is coming off of a grade three win here at BEL. She won in wire to wire fashion that day and won very impressively but I don’t think she will be able to do that in here with this many horses. She has a legit chance to win it though.

5. Lake Wendigo (8-3-3-2 $432.800), trained by Night Rider Stables

This Florida bred filly will be making her first start ever on the turf when she goes to post in here. She just ran a very big third in the Acorn last out here at BEL on the dirt and if she can run that same race on the turf she can have a good chance in here. All depends if she can run on the turf.

6. Windian (6-2-2-0 $131.160), trained by Team 7 Illusions

This New York bred filly by Cherokee Sunset is coming off of her two lifetimes wins. She won a statebred maiden race and then came right back to win a statebred stakes in her last start. She is going to try and win her third in a row and try to get her first grade one win possibly. She will have to run huge to do it though.

7. Crown Of Light (12-3-2-3 $437.000), trained by Mb Stables

This fully will be making her first start for Mb Stables in here as she was just sold to him for a nice price of two hundred and seventy five big ones. She is going to have to turn her form around though because she hasn’t won since January at GP. She is a nice filly but needs to turn her form around.

8. T S Dancer (5-3-0-0 $143.400), trained by Triple K

This lightly raced filly is coming into the race off of a not so great finish at CD last time but I fo think she did not like the off track at all. Before that she won a stake at GP by a run away distance of three lengths. She is pretty good on a firm turf course so as long as it doesn’t rain she will have a chance.

9. Winter Palace (8-4-2-1 $132.840), trained by D J C Racing Stables

This filly coming from the barn of the wizard D J C Racing Stables has been doing pretty well on the turf but those races have been going five or five and a half furlongs lately. If she can run as well routing as she does sprinting she could be very live but we will have to find out if she can first.

10. Quiver Pond (11-5-0-1 $837.200), trained by Estero Farms

This Estero Farms trained filly is a very versatile filly as she had won grade ones on the dirt and turf before. She last ran in the Kentucky Oaks in the mud but she never really fired that day and has now had a two month freshener and is now back on her preferred surface. She is my top pick in the race.

11. Sandset (10-2-1-3 $286.200), trained by Team 7 Illusions

One of the classiest fillies in the race probably she just ran third in the grade one Gamely at SA last out against older fillies and mares. If she runs that race again she can by awful tough in here but she still has to bring here best so we will see if she shows up when its time to get to running.

12. Chai Mission (13-2-4-3 $219.680), trained by Maxmillion Farm

Another very nice filly and she is coming out of the best turf trainer in the games barn. She just ran a very good third in the grade two Nassau at WO after trying to lead every step of the way which like I’ve said is nearly impossible. She could be tough if this outside post doesn’t hurt her too much.

13. Morning Tea (8-2-3-1 $112.360), trained by Mb Stables

This is the third entry from Mb Stables and she has only ran one time ever on the turf in her life and that was her last start where she ran third in an optional claimer. I don’t know if she is good enough to win this race but I have definitely seen crazier things happen in this game before especially in big races.

14. Chateau de Chambord (7-3-2-0 $148.880), trained by John Henry

Another filly who is coming out of the grade two Nassau at WO when she was the runner up that day. She is a pretty nice horse and she won a stakes race two back and then ran second last out. If she runs big she has a chance but the outside post definitely hurts her chances by quite a bit.

Summary

A full field of fourteen three year old fillies is lining up for this one thousand dollar purse. I believe Quiver Pond is the horse to beat and I think there is probably five or six that could upset her though and I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened at all. Good luck to everyone in the race and hope for a good race.
