R Lopez Shows Speed and Class to Take Down The Louisville Thoroughbred

The Louisville Thoroughbred
6 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $300.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

I really liked this one before the race and I like him even more now. He has shown in his last four races just how good he is, and I really think there is a big win in him if he just gets some favors. My only concern is that he made the running in the Smile Sprint but weakened off a very similar pace but today he won in a quicker time and never looked like faltering even if he was paddling a bit at the end. That concern isn’t that he is not quick enough or good enough for a graded stakes but that there may be a missing class gene, however, in his case I don’t think that is the problem. He is clearly improving and as a four-year-old it is in these coming months that he can maximize that improvement and take down some graded money.
I like this one and I like the fact that his trainer has put together the perfect campaign, now he just needs the cherry on top.

This five-year-old is certainly back with four good efforts this year and whilst I feel he may just be a little better over seven furlongs he is putting together a very nice resume’. I am excited to see his next race, not because he is very good but more to find out if he can get an amazing FIFTH ace draw in a row, that in itself with a random draw would be akin to winning the lottery.

The BC Sprint champion really is a shadow of his BC effort, but I am not sure he has plummeted that far I just think at this level he may need that slightly off track to give him the edge he is missing. Have said that at seven he may indeed be finding racing too much like hard work and being a son of Commanding there must be a future for him in the shed.

4th Sam Malone Asgar Beschizza A

Never really got into it but managed a little compensation for his journey down.
