Two things you can take to the bank… Ranking Official likes a wet track and any ticket you have on him in The Mohawk. Sent off as a 14/1 outsider, the Allinthegate four year old sat mid-pack for most of Saturday’s mile and a sixteen turf stakes for NY-bred, but when the money was on the line, he found a gear that the rest of the field just didn’t have and motored home to win by a half length. The final running time was 1:443 for the mile and a sixteen on a soggy BEL turf
course. Guardian used the same tactics as the winner but had to settle for the second spot, a half-length better than pace-setter Great Bonkers, in third. Deliberation was another head back in fourth.
Ranking Official is a 4yo bay colt by Z Jinxed One – Admirals Daughter, by Commanding, and he was bred in NY by Fractious. Acquired for $60.000 by private purchase prior to his racing career, he now shows six lifetime wins, two of those coming this season, and lifetime earnings of $330.430. Congrats to the connections!
