Triple Bend Stakes – Grade III
7 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $200.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.
1st Red Vino The Sidley Stud Berrios H I
Racing would be quite the spectator sport in real life if every finish was like those at HRP as once again we saw all the runners in contention all the way to the line and a narrow winner. This deep closing type let the leaders go pretty hard at halfway and then started his run when things cooled down, flying home to win a multiple photo finish by a neck, the six-year-old ran the race of his life today and once again we see the value of being from an in-form stable. The Sidley Stud already owns some of the best horses in the game as well as the champion sprinting mare that shares his yard and clearly this one decided that their time in the shadows was over. A big win for a horse that ended last year in a $10.000 claimer.
2nd Morethan Meetsthe Is Night Rider Stables Kimura K
Run over close home, the five-year-old did everything right but it just wasn’t enough today. Another that came from a $10.000 claimer the trainer has found a good horses here and one feels he should be given another shot at this level.
3rd Mamba D J C Racing Stables Valdivia J Jr
Why the odds monkeys had this one at such long odds I will never know because as they entered the final furlong he looked home and hosed. However, this isn’t CD and as he begun to tire so the closers and the rest of the field saw an opportunity and took it. A brave effort.
4th Cherokee Revolution Royalty Stables Hernandez J J
Considering the poor weight conditions for this three-year-old they did pretty well to get so close to winning this only going down by a half-length into fourth. Fast away he was on the pace throughout and rallied well down the stretch, I think this is his minimum trip and a mile may see him to better advantage but nonetheless this was a big effort by the three-year-old.
