The Gallorette Stakes would be just the third race for Reorganize since she won the Mrs Revere at CD six months ago. While she didn’t win either of the starts after it, there was nothing wrong with her effort in either, and she seemed like one of the top choices here at PIM on Saturday. She our second choice (and our top two choices did go 1-2), and for the most part the odds for six of the seven runners did not have all that much separating them. Reorganize was actually made a 12/1 longshot on the morning line and was bet down to 5/1. She would stalk the pace the frontrunner early before going on to win by a length in the stretch, giving her trainer, Czech Out Farms, their first win in the race. Aboard was F Geroux, who also wins his first Gallorette trophy. Congratulations to them! The time of the win was 1:39.81, the fourth fastest in the history of the race. Let’s take a look at it:

(1/4 Mile- :23.19)- Keeping Hagi surges to the lead for The Sidley Stud, and will open up a two-length cushion as she enters the opening turn. Our eventual winner from Czech Out Farms, Reorganize, runs in the second spot while hugging the rail, and within a length of her was our pick to win the race, Power Royal, from D J C Racing Stables. Prairie Candy also broke well and would be fourth while running in the third lane for Overpeer Stables. Nearby to her is Hunterman Stable’s Peacestone, with The Great White (Mo Mentum Farm) next in line. There’s a break of about two more to the trailer, When Doves Cry (Big Jd Racing).

(½ Mile- :46.69)- The field moves down the backstretch with Keeping Hagi keeping the lead, and it’s about a length and a half over Reorganize in second. That one has been able to inch ahead of Power Royale and is almost a full length ahead of them at this point in the race. Prairie Candy continued to run three wide in the fourth position, and Peacestone is content to ride out this portion of the race. Further back, neither of The Great White or When Doves Cry were getting involved as of now.

(Top of Stretch, 1.7F To Go)- Around the turn, Keeping Hagi would still be the leader, but it was very interesting to watch what was going on right behind her. Within the turn, while Reorganize did not have room to make a move, Power Royale took advantage and for a moment, took over the second spot. At that point, D J C Racing Stables had to like what he was seeing, but his filly would also leave room for Reorganize on exit of the turn, and now that one would capitalize. At the top of the stretch, while both are now within half a length of Keeping Hagi and set to go by that one, Reorganize was back in the second position. Peacestone was also lurking as a threat, getting closer and looked to make a four wide move. The Great White and When Doves Cry looked to advance their position as well, but Prairie Candy was done for the day, beginning at the top of the turn.

(Finish- 1:39.81)- Soon in the stretch, Reorganize would pass for Keeping Hagi for the lead, and more importantly, was also outkicking Power Royale in the process. Peacestone got closer, but as we got closer, it was evident that she was also not going to threaten Reorganize. At the wire, it’s Reorganize with a convincing length win, and a photo for place behind her that saw Power Royale hold off Peacestone by the narrowest of margins. Fourth place spoils go to When Doves Cry, who somehow caught the fatigued Keeping Hagi in the closing moments. Next would come The Great White, and finally Prairie Candy.

About The Winner- Reorganize, trained by Czech Out Farms and ridden to victory by F Geroux is a four-year-old filly by Dial It In and is out of No Order In Chaos. She was bred in Pennsylvania as a yearling by Czech Out Farms, the only trainer for which she has ever known. Congratulations to the connections! The win is her sixth in 16 starts, her fourth stake win and second graded win. Her career earnings are now $506.960.
