The Green Card hands out the winner but whiffs on the exacta… in the end, that Fractious trained Retaliate retaliated from that wet-track fifth place finish at CD, and used his normal late run to take the Triple Bend Stakes (GII) at SA on Saturday, proving best by a neck while stopping the clock in a healthy 1:21.39 for the seven panels while landing his second win of the ’24 season.  Fionas Miracle had the lead for a brief period down the lane, but couldn’t hold off the eventual winner, taking the second spot.  Neon Delite also had the lead for a few strides down the lane but ran evenly late to take the third spot by a nose over the fast-closing Surprise Authority, in fourth.  Seven lengths covered the field of nine.
