Rolller Coaster Gets Up in the Last Strides to Win Matron Stakes

As the field of 11 entered the starting gate today at BEL for the running of the Matron Stake the weather was perfect and the dirt came back fast for this 6 furlong race. As the gates swung open all the horses appeared to get out well and Angry Curator decided that she wanted the lead. She was followed by Dead To Rights and Checks In The Mail after completing 2 furlongs. Four furlongs into the race the running order for the top 3 had not changed and Angry Curator had to hope she had enough left in the tank to hold off the closers after going 44 and 4 for the half mile. In the final jumps of the race Roller Coaster ran down this pace setter Angry Curator who finished a game 2nd and Checks in the Mail ran 3rd. Let’s take a look at the race breakdown and the payouts:
