5 GP The Hutcheson Stakes
$115.000 3yo 6f Dirt 122lbs +penalties
Box all exactas… you’ve heard the man say it time and time again, and if you followed that rule with The Card, you collected on a nice… oh, $6.50 exacta. A four-horse speed duel because a three-horse battle down the lane to decide Saturday’s Hutcheson Stakes… in the end, Riggins Racing’s Roman Hound proved he can in fact hunt, taking the six furlong dash by a quarter length, while stopping the Teletimer at 1:09.50 over the main GP oval, listed as Fast. The 3yo son of Heffalump Hanny – Roman Miles, by Miles Per Gallon makes it two in a row since changing hands via private sale, and I think it’s obvious that this is a horse to watch through the spring/summer. Congrats to the connections.
Noblepark’s Aggravated Jung, the post time favorite, once again showed that his speed is a very valuable took, pressing the pace throughout this one and taking home the place money in a very game performance. He’s another that you should keep an eye on, as he continues to improve vs. top-notch company. It was just a head back to Blazin D’s Neon Nightmare in third, and the Big Barn takes the minor share with Meant To Be closes late to be a length back in fourth. Three lengths covered the field in this very competitive race.
