It has been a while since Flashee Time got his picture taken… well, he can update his profile.  Sitting just behind a fair enough pace, the 4yo black gelding battled the entire length of the stretch to get a nose in front at the end, taking the San Diego Hcp (GII) by a nose in a final time of 1:41² for the mile and a sixteenth, over a track listed as fast.  Suns Out Guns Out was second, making an unexplainable $56.90 exacta.

The field of four loaded quickly and was away well with Masquerade City away quickest of all, Suns Out Guns Out between horses and Flashee Time from the rail.  Esskelorth was the early trailer.

Past the crowd the first time by and now moving around the clubhouse turn, they had six furlongs to run, and Masquerade City was in front by two lengths.  Suns Out Guns Out giving chase, with Flashee Time on the rail and Esskelorth still at the rear, four lengths covered the field.

Nearing the far turn and three-and-a-half furlong to run, Masquerade City still showing the way by a length and a half.  Suns Out Guns out three wide and had Flashee Time glued to his inside.  A gap of thee and a half back to Esskelorth at the rear.

Down the lane and now inside the final eighth of a mile and to the finish, Flashee Time and Suns Out Guns Out moved past Masquerade City with Esskelorth trying to find some late foot.  As they went under the wire it was noses apart and the PHOTO sign went up.  After viewing the instant video replay, the placing judges saw that Flashee Time was just a whisker quicker to the finish and won by the slightest of margins.  Suns Out Guns Out was a hard luck second, then Masquerade City in third and Esskelorth was fourth.

Flashee Time is a 4yo black gelding by Timeline – Spanish Flash, by Flemington Flash, and he was bred in NY by his owner, Sanny Village.  This was his fifth win from sixteen starts, and he now has earnings of $994.870.
