Sassy One Too Sassy for Endeavour Field

The Endeavour BC- Grade III

TAM Race 7 1 1/16M Turf

Purse $175.000 For Fillies & Mares

 Four Year Olds and Upward

1st Sassy One, trained by D J C Racing Stables

Broke well and moved over to the rail about 3 lengths off the lead. Saved ground around the first turn four lengths from the front as the leaders set an honest pace. Angled off the rail going down the backstretch to pass Lime Dancer who was tiring. Started to gradually make up ground as they moved around the turn and continued gaining on the leader down the stretch. Just able to get up in the final strides and prevail by a neck.

2nd Devil Wears Prada, trained by Axeman

Took her usual spot at the back of the pack soon after the start. Stayed 6-7 lengths from the lead while she saved ground all the way around the track. Started a bold move at the top of the stretch and came up just short at the wire while dead heating for the place.

2nd Blessed Dogma, trained by Mb Stables

Broke on top and moved over to the rail while allowing Well Built to set the pace through the first quarter mile. Moved up to challenge that one and they went nose to nose through the first 6 Furlongs while setting an honest pace. Wore Well Built down and edged clear by a length with a furlong to go. Was unable to hold off Sassy One but managed to dead heat for the place.

4th Well Built, trained by Team 7 Illusions

Moved out to the front from her outside post and engaged in a speed duel with Blessed Dogma through 6 furlongs. Tired through the stretch but was able to hold on to fourth for a minor check.

Summary

Sassy One put in her usual solid effort and it was enough to get a win against a solid field. I am sure we will see her moving up the stakes ladder in her next outing. Devil Wears Prada left herself just a little too much to do but was closing quickly and may benefit from more distance next time. Blessed Dogma fought gamely and did well to hold on for a piece of 2nd after dueling with Well Built who most likely needed this race and will be better next out.
