Well, that was a quick vacation… but we are back and ready to get the 2025 Stakes Coverage underway… a great race to get after it and with the horrible issues in Cali right now, is there any race more fitting than the Unusual Heat Turf Classic?  Older gents going the classic mile and an eighth on the turf course, here in SoCal… I’m headed to the far outside and will give Lantern Yard the edge… he looked good closing late to be third in the Seabiscuit (GII) at DMR, and although he’s been more of a sprint type, that race indicates that he may like this.  Cochabamba had three wins last season, the last of those in the Affirmed on the main track, right here at SA, but he’s been close in a number of turf stakes including a just-miss in the Tropical Park Derby at GP, last out.  I think Mob Ties could also be a factor in this one… he was third going the marathon distance at GP in the Jerkens Hcp, so the distance is not a question. 
It’s a nice field – this should be a good one!
