Shining At Knight Still Shines in Likely Exchange Stakes

Likely Exchange Stakes
1 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $125.000 Fillies & Mares Four-Year-Old And Upward. At TP

1st    Shining At Knight         Our Athletes       *1.60-1 (HRP)            6-1 (SRF)

See? I am a little stupid. Shining At Knight went wire-to-wire just like the grand old mare she is and the favourite she was. I couldn’t decide if she still had the old zip or, at six years old, she was finishing up her career. Well, if she’s finishing up, she’s doing it spectacularly. She’s letting me know I’m not a little stupid, I’m an idiot, and she’s doing it with another stakes win and another in what seems an endless string of 90+ SRF numbers. So, here’s hoping for another appearance in the BC Distaff this year.

2nd     Peacestone          Hunterman Stable     2.60-1 (HRP)     *2-1 (SRF)

Peacestone looks very happy on the dirt with a third straight placing, this time abandoning her usual deep close to stalk close to the pace throughout making a strong run through lane that fell a length short at the wire. She’s looking very versatile right now and can take her choice of dirt or turf stakes on the calendar.

3rd    Hoof On The Gas         Team 7 Illusions      4.40-1 (HRP)       4-1 (SRF)

Well, she couldn’t get the win I predicted, but Hoof On The Gas ran another very nice race repeating the come from behind performance of her Chilukki run almost identically except she was a bit closer at the finish in this one. She’s so very young and performing so nicely, there should be a great future for her.

4th     Spirit Storm        Nakamura Stables         3.05-1 (HRP)        7-2 (SRF)

Spirit Storm gave an even performance running in fourth from start to finish. She picked it up coming down the lane, coming within a half-length of the third the odds predicted for her.
