A short and very unproven field lining up for this race the stand out looks like Balsamic Moon being how he is the only one who has won a stakes race and only one who has won more than two races. He definitely looks like the one to beat but let’s take a look at the short field in this race.

1. Call Me Spanish (12-2-2-2 $67.100), trained by Maxmillion Farm

This black gelding is looking overmatched in this field but since it is such a short gate if he runs second it will be a great paycheck and he will be stakes placed. He won a twenty dollar claimer a couple starts back and then tried graded stakes and allowance company and got smoked. This will be his first start for the new barn

2. Ilmigliomitternacht (1-1-0-0 $12.600), trained by Team 7 Illusions

I guess the thing you can say for this horse is that he is the only undefeated horse in the race even though it was in a maiden claimer. I just think he is definitely overmatched and probably won’t beat any others home but got to give the trainer respect for taking a shot with his horse in here.

3. Balsamic Moon (7-4-1-1 $112.280), trained by John Henry

Definitely the standout of the race he’s the only one who has been successful at the stakes level at any time in his life. He won the Sage of Monticello at GP this winter and that proves to me he is at the least the best of this bunch. He’ll definitely be my top pick to win this race because of the stakes win.

4. Laff All Day (5-2-1-0 $45.850), trained by Maxmillion Farm

The second best horse in this race no doubt and he does have the greatest turf trainer in the game in his corner so of course that will help him a ton. He is on a two race win streak also so I’m sure he is ready to rock and roll and try to upset the horse on his inside. He may be the one to take down Balsamic Moon.

Summary

A short and very unaccomplished field is going to be running in here. I do think Balsamic Moon is the class of this field because he is the only one who has won a stakes race of any type much less be the only to hit the board in a stakes race. He will definitely be the top pick for me and good luck to everyone.
