1st Sioux Flower Mb Stables Alvarado F T

I was worried about this one’s ability to dig deep in a finish, but my worry was misplaced as she flew home for an impressive win in the muddy conditions. The conditions will naturally call into question the full value of this win, especially as a swift early pace tended to suit the closers in this race but the bottom line is she was pretty impressive and is now a noted KYO contender going forward.

2nd Empire Sunset Fractious Hernandez R M

Possibly suited by the conditions she went pretty hard early but was very game at the end of the race to hold onto second and can be forgiven for finding one a bit fresher at the end. This was a decent seasonal debut and i am sure we will see her in another KYO qualifying race.

3rd Shining At Knight Our Athletes Geroux F

Like the winner her instructions saw her drop right back as the early pace was fast in the muddy conditions. Like the winner she made up a lot of ground late on, but she had further to run than Sioux Flower and did really well to get so close at the end. She certainly goes on my watch list after this effort.

4th Chai Beast Serenity Stables Velazquez J R

Ran a career best race to be fourth and certainly looks like the penny has dropped after taking a while to win her maiden.
