CT Oaks GIII
For Three Year Old Fillies
Seven Furlongs Dirt
Saturday September 19, 2015
Purse: $350.000
Welcome to Charles Town West Virginia. On Saturday the fourth running of the GIII CT Oaks will take place. The winner of last years race came from the barn of Mb Stables who sent out Noble One, who went on to win by a length under Rosie Napravnik, in a time of 1:22.13 for the seven furlongs. This year Mb Stables will send out two fillies Angelic Appeal and Make A Move. The owner will look to take this Stake race in back to back years. So now lets look at the field of six.
1) Angelic Appeal ~ comes into Saturday night off a second place finish at Ellis Park where she was beaten a head in against oclm for $50.000. This was her second in a row as the beaten favorite as she was fourth up at Woodbine in the Bison City Stakes for State Breds. She now looks to get back on the winning side of things as she has four wins out of seven starts here in 2015. She is one of two entries for Mb Stables and will ready to go on Saturday. She will be ridden by E.T Baird.
2) Golden Broomstick ~ this filly makes her way into Saturday off a fifth place finish in her last start which took place up at the spa in Saratoga running in the GI Ballerina. The start prior to that she notched her first win on the year winning the GIII Azalea Stakes down at Gulfstream Park. In her other starts this year she has missed the board, but has been in with some tough customers. She hopes to turn it around for the barn of Drabfantasy and will get the services of Mike Smith.
3) Chili Time ~ makes her fourth start on the year here in the CT Oaks. She has been good in her last two starts in winning the GIII Carry Back at Gulfstream Park, as she then was shipped to Saratoga to run in the GI Test where she led the whole way and was caught with a furlong to go finishing third by a length. She looks to be a contender and will go out with Kent Desourmeaux aboard for owner / breeder Rockitpad.
4) Aguichant ~ makes her first appearance against Stakes Company on Saturday. A winner of two in a row winning by a neck at Woodbine against N1X she then went onto DMR to win against oclm for $40.000. She now hopes to tackle and conquer Stakes competition here in the CT Oaks. She has been a nice purchase for owner Maxmillion Farm and ownership looks for her to deliver a wire to wire score on Saturday. She will go out with Jesus Castanon aboard.
5) Make A Move ~ a winner of three in a row and four of five on the year will look to keep her winning streak going here in the CT Oaks. The last time she ran in with GIII competition which came back in April at Oaklawn Park in the GIII Fantasy where she finished seventh. That is her only bad start since her fifth place finish in her Maiden start in July of 2014. She is the second entry for owner Mb Stables and hopes to deliver again. Jockey Victor Espinoza will get the call.
6) Masolina ~ made her first start for new owner Sarah Stables in the GII Lake Placid at Saratoga and was off the board finishing sixth. Sold for $125.000 she was making her first start on the sod. Prior to her last one she was four of five on the dirt and will shorten up for the first time since her Maiden run. She should be close to the pace if not on the lead and hopes to be in the mix in the end. She will go out with Joe Bravo aboard.
This is Choppy I am OUT!
