Small But Strong Field for The Hillsborough Stakes

The Hillsborough – GII
3/7/20
TAM Race9 1 1/8M – Turf
Purse $225.000
Four Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

Only a field of six has been entered up to take a shot at this years running of the grade two Hillsborough over the Tampa Bay turf course. It is part of an action packed stakes cared here at Tampa and it is a very good race for the card. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Wbf No Regrets (23-8-2-1 $337.260), trained by TwinTowers Racing

First one in the field here and in her last start she ran right over this same track in the Endeavour and finished a close fourth in there. She is a graded stakes winner sprinting on the dirt but routing on the turf is no problem for her either. She should have a good shot in here.

2. Credit The Cat (19-13-3-3 $539.240), trained by Nakamura Stables

An absolute winning machine right here and she also has never ran off of the board in her career. She won the mile and a half La Prevoyante at Gulfstream in her last start going wire to wire. She loves to win and she should be very tough in this race for sure.

3. Cest And Me (18-7-2-1 $1334.400), trained by D J C Racing Stables

A grade one winner here and she won the grade one Matriarch last year. She was not very good in the Ameican Oaks in her last start but she is well rested coming into this race and she should bounce back I think. If she runs her best she is definitely right with this field.

4. Rules Are Madness (17-7-3-2 $513.470), trained by Angelos Stable

Another graded stakes winner in this field right here and she is coming into this race off of a sixth place finish in the grade one Pegasus World Cup Turf against the boys. Back with the girls in this one will help her out a lot for sure and she should run a big race I think.

5. Arashiyama (13-4-4-3 $99.550), trained by Invicta Group Llc

Next one in the field here and she is coming into this race off of two wins in a row against allowance company but this will be her first start against stakes company in a long time. She will need to run her best effort to have a shot against some of these fillies and mares.

6. Illustrious Cat (16-6-1-1 $442.520), trained by Chili King Stables

Last one in the field here is another graded stakes winner in the bunch and she has been in very good form recently. She was last seen running second in the Suwannee River by a length. If she can just do one spot better she will be very tough and I think she has a good shot to win.

Summary

No doubt about it this is a very strong field that will be lining up in here. Even though there is only six it is a tough race to pick out a winner from. My top choice is the winning machine Credit The Cat from the two post. Good luck to all in the field.
