  10  CD       Rags To Riches

I’m shocked to see a small field of five freshmen fillies entered for the Rags To Riches at CD on Sunday.  Maybe six would have made a mess of things, so let’s roll with what we have.  I’m putting all of my eggs in one basket for this race and will take Twilight Time as my top and only selection.  She looked good closing fast to be the runner-up in the Pocahontas (GIII), here in Sept., and that looks good enough to me.  Nothing else really trips my lights, so I’ll key her and try to hit the exacta with a host of others.     

Here’s The Field –  

Looked good breaking maiden at PID, then closed fast to be the runner-up in an Alw race at MTH, so the distance seems to be something that she should like.  Catches the rail, which she seems to like, so I’d give her a shot to be in the thick of things.

She won at SAR back in July, then threw a dud in the Sorority (GII) at DMR, only to bounce back in a big way over this surface when second in the Pocahontas (GIII).  That tells me she likes this track and the distance, so I’ll be on her bandwagon today. 

She broke maiden at WO, but it’s been tough goin’ since as she hasn’t been on the board in open or FLA-bred stakes competition.  It doesn’t get any easier today, but you have to keep an eye on this stable, no matter what. 

Broke maiden at second asking, then just missed on the grass at LAD facing Alw types, only to run midpack last out at FL vs same.  I think she will have to improve if she’s wants to be part of this one. 

Another that broke maiden at second asking, getting it done over the PIM strip, but was ninth here vs. Alw company, only to bounce back with a big win at MTH vs same.  Was that CD race proof that she doesn’t like it here, or just a blip?
