A small field of five will be called post-ward for the 2016 running of the PRM Cornhusker Hcp (GIII) going a mile and an eight on the main track. I usually don’t like to take horses that have just changed hands but Captain Awesome looks the part to me. He’d won five in a row before that closing third place finish in the Westchester (GIII) at BEL and I think that field was superior to this group. I’ll take him on top even though I think he will be the odds-on favorite.
I do think Lettucerocku has every chance in the world to get the job done here and will put him on the bottom of my exacta. He’s always close and finished well to be third in the Eclipse (GII) at WO in his most recent outing. This may make for the chalk play of all chalk plays, but they look like the best of the bunch and I’d bet the farm on the exacta box.
