1 ZIA NM Classic Cup Distaff
$145.000 F&M 3yo&Up Foaled in NM 6f Dirt
We have a small field of four ladies set to go six furlongs in the NM Classic Cup Distaff, and with only a pair of owners, everybody should get a piece of the pie. I’m taking General Vegan as my top choice as she has the edge on class and beat my second choice, Charlotte Flair, in the Sierra Starlet at RUI back in July. The others certainly have ability and this could be anybody’s race to win.
Here’s the Field –
1 Romany Force – broke maiden last out and then went on an extended vacation since May. That was an abbreviated stakes at four and a half furlongs and she won pretty easy that day. Works indicate she has some talent so she is worth a look.
2 Charlotte Flair – whooooo! (inside joke on the name) she is competitive in every race and hasn’t missed the board this year, going 6-for-6 with a pair of wins including an ALW win at LS vs. open company. Was second vs. similar at RUI and should be in the thick of this one as well.
3 General Vegan – another that shows a ton of consistency and ability. Won vs. similar at RUI back in July, and was right in the middle of it when second at GG in her most recent. She’s probably the one to get past today.
4 Skinny Dancer – very lightly raced with only three starts and only a single season start in ’19 when she was second vs. OptAlw types over this strip. As a matter of fact she’s never left the gate any where else, so home cooking could be key.
