It’s a big weekend of racing at FG as we showcase the LA breds on LA Champions Day.  This one brings us a group of speedsters set to got six panels in the LC Sprint.  It’s a small field and they certainly all deserve a serious look, but I’ll take Cp Midnight Pains as the top pick today, and I’d expect him to go off as the heavy favorite.  Three wins in a row coming to this one and won the Gold Cup at DED vs LA-bred horses… you get the picture.  Cp Scotts Misses was second in that Gold Cup race so let’s give him a big look today.  He ran last in his return over that same surface, but he’s a horse that performs well on a big stage.

Again, this is a closely matched group and I can see any of these winning.

Here’s The Field –

1
Cp Laggy Gyal    Night Rider Stables    Geroux F   123   6/1

This one hasn’t been off of the board in five seasonal starts including a pair of wins, one vs. LA-bred Alw types and the other at SAR taking down $35.000 claimers going a distance.  Shortened up last out and just missed at DED vs. similar so his best would make him tough.

2
Cp Scotts Misses    Angelos Stable    Beschizza A   123   5/2

All three of his ’21 wins came earlier in the year, but he was second vs. similar at DED in the Gold Cup.  He did all of the heavy lifting in that one only to get caught late.  Still, he’s got good speed and has been close in all races… give him a look.

3
   Silver Dreams    T Boy Racing    Arrieta F   123   4/1

Another that chalked up his wins early in the season but has been very consistent at bringing home checks.  He makes his living running against state-bred types and no different here today.  He loves the sprint races and could be a factor when they turn for home.

4
Cp Midnight Pains    T Boy Racing    Saez G   125   8/5

Ding ding ding… I think we have our favorite.  This gelding comes into today with a three-race win streak and won the Gold Cup at DED back in OCT.  He was second in the LA Cup Sprint and sure does look like the one to get past if you want to win today.

5
   Cp Livermoon    T Boy Racing    Murrill M   123   4/1

Third part of the T Boy Racing entry and he’s another that brings home checks just about every time he steps on the track.  Only a single win this year, but he has four seconds and four thirds… making a good living off of LA-bred races.  Don’t ignore him.
