  7   FG     Krantz Memorial Stakes

We have a small field of four females set to go a mile and a half over the FG lawn, and we look at the field for the Krantz Memorial Stakes.  I have one in here, so that pretty much gets it down to a three horse field and I look to Strategic North as the one to beat today.  She had a slew of runner-up efforts last season, including last out over this track vs. similar.  I just think this is a spot for her to get it done.  The Green Card likes Pure Motor and I can see her as a big threat as well… She never seems to run a bad race and winning at a 42% rate sure is hard to fault. 

Here’s The Field –

Has changed hands a few times of late and was fourth to close out ’21, giving an even effort in that NY-bred stakes at AQU.  She won a similar race for a prior barn and picks up two additional pounds today because the trainer isn’t real smart.  Can she show some of her old form or is it another long day for this one?

Very consistent type that had a single win in ’21 but show four runner-up starts from her six starts.  Can this be a place for her to get over the seconditus and take home a win?  I certainly think she is the one to get past and should see a lot of support at the windows. 

Three wins in her five ’21 starts and this lightly raced (to be a 6yo) mare always gives a big effort.  She’s ten for twenty-four life time, with a handful of other on-the-board efforts, so she’s very game… add in that she’s won her last two starts, yeah, she’s tough. 

She had a pair of wins last season, including that last-out Alw victory over the HAW lawn.  She also had four on-the-board finishes from her ten starts, so she’s usually around when they hand out cash.  No reason to expect anything less today.
