Snow Peak is Super Impressive in Juvenile Fillies

BC Juvenile Fillies – Grade I [KYO]
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $2,000.000 Filly 2 Year Olds.

1st Snow Peak, trained by Mb Stables
Whilst the turf track was impossible to close on, the dirt track was playing much fairer which was just as well for this filly as she was taken to the back from her wide draw. The move she made round the field just after halfway was breathtaking and she ran on strongly to take the race by a clear cut length. Still unbeaten in four races this is her third grade one in a row and she looks just unbeatable at the moment. It will now take a major effort to keep this filly sound through to the 2017 classics but if anyone can Mb can and if she gets to the KYO in this form i wouldnt be betting against her.

2nd Threat, trained by D J C Racing Stables
Put her Pocahontas run behind her with a fine effort to run second. Midpack and a fair way off the lead she stretched out nicely to run a great race. Looking at the conformation of the first two you would expect this filly to be the better three year old and her tainer will be in for an exciting Winter planning her KYO attack.

3rd Hateuscuztheyaintus, trained by Nightmare Racing
Another that took advantage of the closing bias on the dirt she sprinted home from a long way back to be third. Well beaten by the first two but this was a much better effort and she has a bright future.

4th Rollergirl, trained by Jerry Garcia Racing
Another late finisher she did well to get fourth after being buried from the two draw. She is a good sort but needs to sort out her running style if she is going to be consistent in these top races.

SUMMARY

The first two were clear at the line with the winner very impressive. The complexion of the race changed completely after halfway with closers dominating in the end and that type of finish can give a strange result, it will be interesting to see how these compete in the rest of the juvenile races this year.
