  8   GP     The Palm Beach Stakes

It was a big weekend of graded stakes action here in SoFla and Smokey Stover made sure to get in on that big-cash action as Solar Coast, sent off at nearly 8/1 odds, used his speed to ensure there were no traffic issues, like the Kitten’s Joy presented, opening a clear lead into the lane and holding off the late charge of Jerry West to take home the bacon in The Palm Beach Stakes.  The final running time for the mile over the Firm, non-existent, inner-turf course was 1:324, and the ending gap was three-quarters of a length.  It was another length back to Lets Race in third, nosing out Secret Sweat who took home the minor money.  Ten lengths covered the field.
