The field broke sharply in the 1 1/16 mile contest at FG and quickly formed into two flights with Jolly Charley and Five Daddy Darling on the lead. Burn Charley Burn and Someones Avatar ran stride for stride a length behind the leaders.

Five Daddy Darling took the lead into the turn while Someones Avatar, the eventual winner, slipped back into last.

Into the backstretch, Someones Avatar engaged Burn Charley Burn again, but now the duo trailed Five Daddy Darling by nearly three lengths with Jolly Charley still a strong second. They stayed exactly that way  until the far turn when Five Daddy Darling started to open up on Jolly Charley with Burn Charley Burn and Someones Avatar still stride for stride behind them.

As the field reached the stretch, Five Daddy Darling opened his lead to two lengths. Someones Avatar and Burn Charley Burn caught Jolly Charley and set their sites on the leader. With a furlong to run the two lengths covered the whole field. Someones Avatar cut the lead to ½ length with Burn Charley Burn on the inside in striking distance.

At the wire, it was Someones Avatar by a length. The four-year-old gelding, owned by On The Map Racing, got his first stakes win for a career record of 12-6-2-2 $162.760.

Complete Order of Finish

Someones Avatar – Came from last with a powerful stretch run to finish first by a length.
Five Daddy Darling – Led at every call but the last one and finished second.
Burn Charley Burn – Came from off the pace to get up for a close third place finish.
Jolly Charley – Pressed the lead throughout, then weakened in the stretch to finish last.
