Nice looking colt has won two of three starts with his only defeat coming on soft footing at PRX and even then he was third only beaten three lengths. That was a rapid race last out where he closed to win at 6f in 1:09 so he’s quick, the extra furlong looks to be something he will like and has a ton of room for more growth… he could be trouble here.
Hasn’t won since breaking maiden back in Aug of last season and has been off the board in each of his last two starts. Only beat one horse last out facing Alw horses at GP, so this is obviously a step up in class and makes it seem like this will be a long afternoon at the racetrack.
Second v. stakes horses last out at TAM where he just couldn’t get to the winner that afternoon. Was fourth here in the start prior to that when facing OptAlw horses so the fact that he’s not making up ground in the late stages of the 7f races certainly sets off a flag with me. He may get the job done but probably not with my $2 on him.
Had won three of four starts so they went big game hunting in the San Vincent (GII) here in his most recent and it was a less than thrilling finish as the 2/1 post time favorite. He never headed a horse that day finishing last of nine and I really don’t have an answer to why it would have been that poor of a performance. Can he turn the tables today?
Broke maiden at FG and then went after stakes horses in the Rushaway at TP where he was seventh of eleven that day. He seems to do better work at abbrieviated distances so this may be a better spot from a distance stand-point, but I’m not sure he’s quite ready for stakes company at this point. Still he could be around for part.
Has changed hands more times than he’s won so I guess at least people think they can be the difference to get him going. Broke maiden at RP back in Nov and he has been close in all of his starts since then, but close doesn’t put a ton of money in the bank. He was third over this strip facing OptAlw horses so maybe he can get a small piece here.
He’s won four of five starts and was third in that other race so there’s no doubt that he has the ability. Comes from the mega-stable and they know how to bring home the bucks. If he can repeat that last out performance at GP where he beat OptAlw horses at today’s distance, then he’s probably back in the winner’s circle here.
