Weight 123 lbs.
1st Spanish Town Posse, trained by Night Rider Stables
Dropped to the trail early on but was always going well and when he was asked to cut through the field he did so
readily coming right over the top for an impressive quarter length win. Claimed in June last year he has been
languishing at lower grade picking up long distance races at will. Way back in November last year he won a race
over this trip in 2.28 and was clearly at that point on track for a win like this. I dont think we will be seeing him down
in the grades again after this win and he must be an interesting BC prospect for the enthusiastic trainer.
2nd Dogs Infowarrior, trained by Grimley
Ran a huge race getting into the stalk early on and when he got to the front he kept on very bravely to be a game
second. This was a big effort by a horse that looked like he was struggling this season but this is as good as he
has ever run and he should continue to earn a living this season.
3rd Russian Whiskey, trained by Mb Stables
Ran on strongly from the back for a close third proving this evergreen seven year old is still holding his form. A
tilt at a second BC Marathon looks on the card for this fella.
4th Swiss Bank Account, trained by Threshold
travelled in midpack and kept on well enough after threatening as they entered the stretch. He is taking his time in
coming back to his Marathon winning form but he is getting there.
5th Macht Nichts
Won the Tokyo City Cup over this trip, making all and winning in a faster time than this race today. He tried to repeat
that today but fell away tamely.
6th Tundra Kenny
Travelled well enough in a good position but when the whips came out he didnt quicken and ended up a tired sixth. I
would imagine he will be seen back on the grass in his next start.
7th Taylors Eagle
Never really got into it.
8th Look Into My Eyes
Beaten just about as far as his form suggested he would.
