ONT Fashion Stakes – Grade 3 – $150.000
WO – 6 Furlongs – Dirt
For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward
October 16, 2022
#1 Catch The Trip (Gdp Inc) Winner of the Grade 2 Honorable Miss Handicap two starts back. Second in the PID Masters Series Stakes (G2) last out. Seems to be in the best form of her career. Could be there at the wire.
#2 Secrether (Ekli Stable) Second in the $300.000 Open Mind last out. Graded winner, but that was May of last year. Still she has put together a string of strong performances, including a second by a neck in the Whimsical Stakes (G3) in May. Another strong contender.
#3 Queen Mother (Wood Duck Stables) In the money in all five of her starts this year, including a second in the Grade 3 CT Oaks last start. In fact, the has been second or third in all of her last three starts, all in graded company. Don’t count this one out.
#4 Deeback (Mb Stables) Second in the Grade 2 Great Lady M Stakes two starts back. Very successful, very consistent mare. Another one with a good chance to get part of the purse. And a win wouldn’t be a surprise.
#5 Not A Big Deal (Mb Stables) Second in the Grade 3 Seaway last start. Performances haven’t been as strong as some here, which only speaks to the quality of this field.
#6 Chatta Code (Ace Racing Stable) Won the $125.000 Union Avenue Handicap last out and the $50.000 Niagara Stakes before that, both in NY-bred company. Finished second in the Prioress (G2) last out. Another one that has earned some respect, but may be a little outclassed here.
#7 Shes A Freak (Arindel) Hasn’t had a win since an allowance at GG back in May. Put together a string of seconds, including the $135.000 Shine Again. Needs a big effort to take these on.
#8 City Cat (Bears Stable) Only seven starts for this filly, none of them in stakes company. Tough spot to try and break into graded level.
