Somebody better break-up this trainer-jockey duo or it could be a long fall for you big stakes folks… Mb Stables and Extreme Super Hero put the kryptonite move on the field in the DMR Derby (GII) and just dominates from start to finish, taking the win by three (looked more like five) lengths, stopping the clock at 1:44.92 for the mile and an eighth, over the SoCal lawn. Petranella Man tried to play the part of the closer, but you weren’t going to catch the winner with a motorcycle today, so the 1.50 favorite had to settle for the runner-up cash. Mb takes the third spot with Master Manipulator, a neck better than Grand Zion in fourth, and then another length to Rare Truth, rounding this one out, six lengths from front to back.

I love doing the races where I’m not even on the schedule to do anything…just having fun while delivering the best in game-racing. I have been out of rotation since late June, getting my sea legs while people with one too many frosty beverages throw insults (like that’s going to get them what they want). What a great race as Fractious’ Extreme Jet stalks, pounces and gets up in the final 150-yards to take Monday’s The Hopeful (GI) by a neck, stopping the clock at 1:21.88 for the seven panels. Post time favorite Without Warning set the pace to late in the lane, but was over-taken in the shadow of the wire, securing the second spot. Speed Queen was third, then Bronze Hamilton in fourth.
