Picking up the perfect race position from the perfect draw to do it from this four year old stalked the lead and then ground out a neck victory in game fashion. The odds were a surprise to me but then the HRP odds maker is akin to a three year old child so it wasn’t a shock to see a horse that was beaten just two lengths in a grade one go off at over 60/1 in an ungraded stakes. I think he is a lot better than many gave him credit for especially when you note his last three races in graded company have all been from terrible draws and in all cases he has run respectably. There will be a graded stakes in his future for sure.

Ran his best race for some time tracking the winner all the way but paying the price for a wider trip and going down fighting by just a neck. His works have always suggested he is a stakes horse but he does seem to have to have things go his own way to win at this level. A good effort though.

He tracked the first two but just didn’t really get into a challenging position and had to settle for a share of third. He is a difficult read as i felt that he looked like he needed further but then notice he won a sprint last summer so it is hard to really get a line on his best trip. I am sure the trainer will continue to work on him and i would imagine there are more wins down the line.

With a 1.36 and 2 work time for the mile, as good and better than the boys that finished in front of her and the receipt of 5Lbs this filly looked like a good thing on this years results so far. I think though for me this looked no different than previous years, the filly lacked the muscle in the fight and whilst she ran a thoroughly respectable third she never looked like emulating her three year old sisters.
