Well you wont get a much more predictable winner than this at HRP and as detailed in the write up for this race the overwhelming factor to get this result was a one pound turnaround in weights with the runner up thanks to the ‘gamey’ weight allowance system. All credit should go to the trainer who took this one straight out of a claimer and set it straight back into this stakes race knowing it would set up perfectly for the Tex bred.
Stalking the lead the runner up tried hard but the three year old was always going to hold it out giving the trainer a quick profit on the $16 claim they made 12 days before. A master stroke by a young trainer with a bright future at HRP.

Beat the winner last time out but the difference in draw and the one pound was enough to see this result coming from 12 days ago when they last met. This was actually a solid run from the gelding but there are some things you just can’t beat.
3rd Sweep Kiss Rousee Eramia R E
With everything else on the pull at the start the fiver year old railed through for the lead which was always going to stretch his stamina despite a rather average early pace. Third in the end was OK.

I was a little surprised to see this one beaten so easily and it just goes to show that a 57 and 4 five furlong dirt work doesn’t guarantee anything these days.
