These Canadian Breds that race in America Tariff free come back to their roots to try and take out this nice purse at WO. Here is how they line up:
1 Eighteen Ninety Two Mo Mentum Farm Murphy O 123 —
She is better than her bare form suggests and there is plenty to like about her from the inside draw. Likely to stalk or lead she won the China Doll doing just that and was a very close second in the ShadyWell from this draw when leading. The trip will be my biggest concern for her though and she may find this nine furlongs stretches her stamina too far.
2 Lifes Good D J C Racing Stables Lopez P 123 —
A classy filly as she has shown when third in the Starlet and a close second in the Busanda. She acts on any going, will relish this trip and runs from an energy saving draw. I like her chances here.
3 Tactical Spin Alydar Stables Velazquez J R 123 —
After huge efforts chasing home Credit Crime in the Ashland and the KY Oaks, she was a little lack luster in the Acorn when only sixth and this will be an important race for her to see if she needs a longer break. I think the nearly six weeks will be enough though and she must start as favorite for this race.
4 Love Mo Mentum Farm Geroux F 123 —
A nice filly, she has shown plenty of improvement recently but that has mainly been on turf and shorter trips. It is difficult to assess her on the main track but if she can reproduce her turf form then she will be competitive.
5 Past The Prime Mb Stables Centeno D E 123 —
A maiden winner beaten in a PRX allowance last time she gets her chance at this level and is consistent enough to be given a chance. Lightly raced so could improve quickly her 1.10 and 3 work before that defeat says she could be up to this level.
6 Locked In Mb Stables Franco M 123 —
After winning the Princess Elizabeth last year she was sent the KYO route and was close enough in the Marthas Wish to be given a chance in the Davona Dale and the SA Oaks. She had disappointed a little so was sent to lowly RUI for a confidence boosting win only to be beaten into third over a trip that was probably too short. She will need to find her old form to be a win chance here.
7 Falling System The Sidley Stud Salles L 123 —
The 1.10 and 3 work is compelling but her form less so but coming from a stable that has been in great form you cannot write her off even from a wide draw. A fair effort in the Seattle last time when making late ground there isn’t much apart from that work to say she will be a danger here.
SUMMARY
Tactical Spin certainly deserves some compensation after some big efforts so far this year so she must get the nod here. I rather like Lifes Good for the Exacta and then maybe the Mb pair for third.
