With just one maiden win to her credit, Talk Of The North looked somewhat out of place in this field of stakes winning and stakes placed fillies, but that didn’t matter to Mb Stables’ filly. She came flying from nowhere in the final furlong to get to the wire first and prove her worth.

Lonely (Ace Racing Stable) came away fast and quickly drew off to lead by a length over Magically Inspired (Invicta Group Llc), Zola (Royalty Stables) and Killeen (First Flight Stables). Behind them Stacysmomgotitgoinon (Big Jd Racing), Talk Of The North and Hunt For Love (D J C Racing) ran three across the track.

They sorted themselves out into the turn with Lonely showing the way by two over Zola and Magically Inspired. Killeen moved up to fourth 3/4 length in front of Hunt For Love and Stacysmomgotitgoinon. Talk Of The North was last between horses.

Heading into the backstretch, Zola separated herself from Magically Inspired and cut Lonely’s lead to a length.  Talk Of The North trailed by 6 1/2.

Killeen swung to the outside and made a move, drawing alongside a tiring Magically Inspired. Talk Of The North was now behind by 5 1/2.

Around the turn for home, Zola cut the lead to 1/2 length and the trailers started their move in tandem, five across the track. Talk Of The North was still last but was beginning to move. With less than a furlong to go, Zola caught Lonely and Talk Of The North moved into fourth and set her sights on the leaders. She passed Zola in the shadow of the wire.

It was the fourth start and second win for Talk Of The North, Mb Stables’ homebred by Apples To Oranges out of Easier Said (Decima). The win brings her career earnings to $97.200. Congratulations to Mb Stables and Talk Of The North.
