Three Year Olds
Here we have ten three year old turf runners for this years grade three Saranac over the inner turf here at Saratoga. Almost full field here and there is some very good runners in this field. Let’s take a look at the field.
1. Gucci (7-1-1-2 $59.260), trained by First Class Stable
And here we have the first runner in the field and this horse just ran third in a statebred allowance here at Saratoga. He broke his maiden very impressively in the start before that. He has very good works so if he runs to those he may have a longshot chance.
2. Call Me Godd (14-3-0-5 $195.680), trained by Sir Daniel Martin
Here we have one dropping down in class off of a sixth place finish in the grade one Belmont Derby in his last start. That was not necessarily his best race so I think he will be better off in this race and he should have an alright chance.
3. Spotted Copper (5-1-1-0 $38.860), trained by Chili King Stables
This next horse is coming into this race off of a second place in an Ontario bred allowance race. Before that he won a wide open maiden special weight very easily. I think he will run alright in this spot but he will have to run huge to win.
4. Mojave Rattler (12-3-2-2 $189.360), trained by Mo Mentum Farm
And now to this runner who just ran a very good third in the grade two National Museum of Racing here at Saratoga. He usually likes to be right up near the lead but I think if he sits just a little off the pace he will have a big kick and could win this.
5. Revolutionary Cat (9-2-2-2 $43.240), trained by Greeko Holdem
This next runner is coming into this race off of a track record performance in a first level allowance at Lone Star. He ran a big race that day and won very easily and I think that win warranted a try in here. I guess we will see what he is made of in this spot.
6. Hollywood Gem (9-4-0-0 $157.310), trained by Estero Farms
Another coming out of the grade one Belmont Derby right here and this horse ran a very lackluster eleventh place finish that day. He is a stakes winner but he has not been in good form as of late so he will have to turn it around to have a chance in here.
7. Sunday Phunnies (11-4-1-1 $169.500), trained by Nakamura Stables
This next runner is coming into this race off of a big stakes win in the Oceanside Stakes at Del Mar. That was his best race to date and he ran very well that day. If he improved off of that win he should be heading in the right direction to have a chance in here.
8. Mysterious Moon (8-3-1-0 $54.570), trained by Fractious
This next runner is coming into this race off of a decent fifth place finish in the grade two National Museum of Racing here at Saratoga. He was closing late day and his works are very good at the moment. If he runs to his works he might be a dark horse in this field.
9. Never Met Me (7-2-2-1 $169.790), trained by Mb Stables
And here we have a horse that is coming off of two tough defeats against older horses. He just ran second in the grade two King Edward BC Stakes at Woodbine and he ran very well that day. I think he is due for a big win and he should be tough in here.
10. Puzzle (6-1-3-0 $68.800), trained by D J C Racing Stables
And now to the final runner in the field who is coming into this race off of a very impressive maiden breaking score in his last start here at Saratoga. He won by two lengths and earned a 99 SRF rating for that win. A tough post and he has never faced this tough of a field.
Summary
A big competitive field for this race and I could see a few of these runners winning it. My top choice is going to be Never Met Me as I think he has been facing better and be running well with those foes. Good luck to all in the field.
