Two Year Olds Fillies FL Breds

A field of ten Florida bred two year old fillies are entered up for this years running of the FL Sire Stakes – Susan here at Gulfstream Park. A big competitive has been entered up so let’s take a look at the field. 

1. Zealous Kruz (2-1-0-0 $24.000), trained by Estero Farms

The first filly that we come across is coming into this race off of a fifth place finish in the grade three Schuylerville at Saratoga. Before that she won a maiden special weight at Pimlico in her first start. The drop to statebred company should help her out.

2. Starship Rhythm (3-1-0-0 $61.140), trained by Arindel

This next filly is coming into this race off of a win in the first leg of the Florida Sire Stakes when she won the FLSS Vixen. She broke her maiden in that race but it was on a sloppy track. I think she may have benefited from the wet track that day.

3. Vegas Show Hen (2-2-0-0 $44.100), trained by Our Athletes 

The only undefeated filly in this race is coming off of a win in a first level allowance race at Ellis on the turf. She is quick and she has some strong works so I think she could extend her undefeated streak to three in here.

4. Little Baby (2-1-0-1 $33.600), trained by Oquinn Farm

This next filly just won a maiden special weight at Ellis in her last start and she won nicely that day. Her works are also very strong and she has been on the improve so I think she could have a decent chance in this race.

5. Terra Command (3-2-0-0 $59.700), trained by Fractious 

This next filly will be making her first start for her new trainer in this race. She won a first level allowance at Saratoga in her last race. She seems to be a very talented and she has done nothing wrong so far in her short career.

6. Ooh Such Big Assets (3-1-0-0 $0.780), trained by Arindel

The second filly for Arindel in this race and she is also coming out of the FL Sire Stakes Vixen where her stablemate beat her and she ran sixth. She broke her maiden at Sun Downs for a dollar and change so I just do not see her having much of a chance.

7. Red Divos Gossip (3-1-0-0 $24.900), trained by Night Rider Stables

And now to this filly who is coming into this race off of a win against Florida bred maiden special weight company. She ran well that day but this is a step up in class so she will have to run better than that win.

8. Crystal Secret (1-0-1-0 $17.000), trained by Mb Stables

Now to the only maiden in the field but she did run second in a maiden special weight at Saratoga. But that was on the turf and there is no dirt works so she is really a huge question mark. I have to think Mb Stables knows she is capable of winning this though.

9. Starship Twister (4-1-0-0 $11.700), trained by TwinTowers Racing

The most experienced filly in the field here as been running off the board in her most of her starts but that does not do her justice. She has been closing fast in those races and I think she can’t be overlooked with the extra furlong of this race.

10. Made In America (2-1-0-0 $39.000), trained by Jive Inc.

And now to the final runner in the field right here and she is coming into this spot off of a fourth place finish in the grade three Schuylerville. She was closing late that day and she should appreciate the extra distance in here also. 

Summary

A nice field for sure and I can definitely see a couple of these winning this race. I am going to go with the undefeated filly as my top pick since she is perfect so far. Good luck to all in the field.
