Two Year Olds NY Breds

Two year New York bred stakes action here on the New York statebred stakes day. Good sized field of ten in this race so it should be a competitive field. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Breath Of The Field (4-2-1-1 $92.860), trained by Smokey Stover

First up in the field and this horse is one of the favorites in this field after second in the Funny Cide last out. The rail is a tough spot in this big of a field but if he gets a clean trip he will be tough.

2. Dial It Chuck (6-2-0-1 $84.600), trained by Arindel

One of the most experienced in the field with six starts and he was eleventh in the Hopeful last time which was a little too tough. The distance may also be an issue with him.

3. Zensational (2-1-0-0 $20.400), trained by Smokey Stover

Second for the Smokey Stover barn here and the win this horse has was at Lone Star this summer. He could be jumping too high with this spot. He would have to run a very big race to win here.

4. Ricki Tikki Tavi (4-1-0-1 $37.200), trained by La Canada Racehorses

Next up here and this horse broke his maiden last out at Del Mar about two months ago. Comes to statebred action for the first time and he could run a big one possibly.

5. General Farley (6-2-0-0 $36.660), trained by Arindel

Second for Arindel here and also the other horse with six career starts. This horse seems intriguing to me because I think the mile could really be a sweet spot for his closing style. Longshot chance here.

6. Red Bullet (4-1-1-0 $42.700), trained by Fractious

Moving onto this horse here and he is coming into this race off of a fourth place finish in the grade three Iroquois. If he produces an effort like that he may be able to win this race.

7. Reggae Boyz (3-1-0-0 $10.840), trained by Night Rider Stables

Next up in the field here and this horse won a maiden claiming fifteen dollar race up at Finger Lakes in his last start. I just think that this is up above his level and I don’t see him having much of a chance.

8. Ghost Command (4-2-0-0 $47.700), trained by Allinthegate

Next runner to look at right here and he was eleventh in the grade three Iroquois last out. He was gelded after the last race so maybe a different horse will show up in this spot. Will stay have to run a big race to win.

9. Clubhouse (3-1-0-1 $16.660), trained by Crocker Ggs

This horse will be making his first start for Crocker Ggs after being claimed for fifteen bucks in August when he won a maiden claimer at Finger Lakes. Strong works but big jump in class for him.

10. Tusk (5-1-2-2 $84.700), trained by D J C Racing Stables

Last runner in the field here and he was second in a hundred dollar New York bred stake at Finger Lakes lady out. Pretty talented horse here but he will have to prove he can go the distance and overcome this bad post.

Summary

Not a bad field at all for this race and there are some pretty good horses in this field I think. My top choice is the one Breath Of The Field. Good luck to all in the race.
