7 KEE Spinster (GI) [BC]
$400.000 3yo&Up F&M 1 1/8m Dirt 3yo 121lbs Older 124lbs
Tenrikyo scored her second graded win of the year, and probably at the best time of the year, taking the Spinster (GI) at KEE by a neck in a final time of 1:482 for the mile and an eighth distance on the main track. She was sent off at nearly 5/1 odds, making her the second favorite and proving that this was a tough race to handicap. Laffy Crack closed from way back to grab the second spot, a half length in front of One Step West, who had the lead late but just couldn’t hold off the top pair. Totally Baroque took the minor money in a race that had five lengths covering the entire field.
Tenrikyo is a 4yo chestnut filly by Grandeur – Set Sail, by Sneaky Little Pirate, ad she was bred by her owner, Smokey Stover, in FLA. This was her seventh win from seventeen starts and she now has $2,145.000 in earnings. Look for her on BC Day.
