Sweet Life Stakes – Grade III
6 1/2 Furlongs Turf Stake Purse $100.000 Filly 3 Year Olds.
1st Tequa Arindel Espinoza V
The trainer set this race up perfectly either by design or by the luck of the race engine. With the other stable runner making the running this one was able to slot into the perfect position and with the down hill course making it almost impossible to make ground the result never really looked in doubt. A winner of a little optional claimer at TUP last time it just goes to show how the big guns are using these fair level type races as preps for these bigger prizes and it worked perfectly for her. Taking it up she dug in down the stretch and held on by a half length and whilst i am not sure she will go much further than this she is a very fast filly who looks to have a bright future. Bought for just $11 pre-race she has won well over ten times that amount after winning a high level maiden on debut and is another string to the trainers ever growing bow of quality horses.
2nd Creepy Authority Smokey Stover Hernandez Ef
The winner got first run and she just couldn’t get close enough to make a fight of it but stuck on well for second. This defeat may have ruined her run of victories but it certainly proved she has enough of the class gene to move up the levels.
3rd Amy Is Shameful La Canada Racehorses Desormeaux K J
The BC Juvenile Sprint winner couldn’t compete with a TUP optional allowance winner, such is HRP at the moment. On a track where it is very hard to make any ground she was beaten less than a length at the end but was never close enough to look the winner. I am sure she will be winning again soon.
4th Incendiary Mb Stables Pyfer J
I just get the feeling that this one hasn’t found her ideal trip or surface yet. Rallying from off the pace she got to within a length but on this track was too far behind to be a factor. It will be interesting to see where the master goes next with her, maybe an Oaks prep is on the cards.
