WEATHER UPDATE

So, the rain is here… and I do mean RAIN.  And with that being said, it’s time to make some adjustments to our picks.

I’m stickin’ with the top selection… Daemon seems to overcome everything, and I think he will do the same here.  Similar to the Super Filly, Credit Crime, winner of yesterday’s Oaks, I think he will still get it done.  I’m also sticking with Brooklyn BashI really think he’s a horse with a big upswing and the rain could add to that.

Tropical Surge broke maiden on a damp track, In Good Order is another that could really like the wet going and Without Warning won the Tremont on a wet track.  Zions Bet has a win and a second from three wet track races and that’s the most of any participant.  The remainder either are looking at it for the first time or didn’t enjoy the rain…

The First Saturday in May, The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports… The Run for… awww, heck you get the idea.  It’s the one race that we all wait for, we all want to win, we all just want to get into the starting gate.  The Field for the 2025 KYD will be headed post-ward at 3pm?? Wait… what??  3pm?  I’m guessing that’s a typo, but… who knows – I’ll keep an eye on it  let’s now make post time 7:30pm EDT.  Sometime on Saturday, we will watch the gates fly open and history will be made.  We will hear the glorious sounds of victory, the what-ifs, and the what could have beens.  It’s everything this game is about.  So, which way do we see this one unfolding?  Ahhh… here we go….

Until they beat him, I would put Daemon at the top of this class, ten out of ten times.  So, let’s see if they can do it… the great gray has won six of seven, and maybe more importantly, does it as if nothing else matters.  Up on the lead, off the pace… he doesn’t care… he just hits the wire first.  Confirmation… iffy, am gallops… solid, but not head-turning… HE JUST WINS.  I’m not thrilled about his post position, but I think he has the tactical speed to overcome, the heart of a champion… to quote everyone from Missouri, you gotta show me.

I love the trio of monsters that Mb Stables has in here today, but let’s try to settle on one for the second spot, and I’ll give the nod to The Golden Age.  He looks like a bargain at the $145.000 purchase price, winning all three starts since changing conditioners, and, again, he just wins.  Up on the pace, from the back of the pack… he’s another that just seems to know how to get the job done.  I like the others from this barn, but… Gold is the pick.

The third spot will go to another barn that has pulled-off the KYD hat-trick, getting three into the starting gate… but which of the Wood Duck Stables’ entrants do you go with?  Again, they are all formidable entrants… but I’m going to deviate from the norm and give Brooklyn Bash my recommendation, despite this being the first start for this trainer.  That :23 flat work over this track was one of the best by a 3yo… EVER… EVER.  He has tactical speed, the build to run all day… I just have a feeling about this one… or perhaps one too many IPAs last night.  Either way, I think this one could be very special.

I’m not going to go four deep in the picks as I will probably use some of the stablemates from Mb and Duck in my wagers… so with that being said, the absolute best of luck to everyone involved.  You are already winners just by making it here… Blanton’s over ice, a good vantage point.  And to quote the great Mills Lane… LET’S GET IT ON!!!
